In 2012, a small group of community volunteers piled two straw bales in the park outside a non-profit food garden and sold the first bunch of chard. In 2019 our market hosted over 10 000 visitors per week and was named one of the top 20 in the world by the UK Telegraph. On 15 March 2020 the Market closed temporarily to assist in containing the coronavirus and this on-line service was implemented.
